Ligularia dentata

Ligularia dentata

Ligularia dentata

Very dense bush with leaves of various colour (from light green with the return lilac part to is dark-purple - grades Desdemona, Othello). There is a number of other grades, but they yet have not received the sufficient distribution. The height is from 1 up to 1,5 meters. Blossoms with bright yellow baskets, but blossoming is not the main thing for this plant. As well as all the Ligularias, Ligularia dentata is very sensitive to humidity of air and watering. Even a light dryness of soil causes loss, and leaves droop. But it quickly gets into condition water is given in time. Grows on an open, solar place also bares a light shade. If there is no necessity to collect seeds, after flowering it is better to remove the inflorescences - they spoil the decorative effect. It is desirable to divide a bush once in 3-4 years because numerous radical shoots make a bush smaller. Among the Ligularias there is a number of the extremely interesting kinds: L wilsoniana, L przewalskii, L. fisheri, etc. They lose a little to Dentata on decorative effect though they are rather interesting.
